Youth Ministry

EBC Youth Ministry Purpose – “The Youth Ministry exists under the umbrella of Evergreen Bible Church for the purpose of helping teenagers become LIFE-LONG DISCIPLES of Jesus Christ. Our big hope is that by the time our students graduate from high school, they will find their identity in Christ, and that they will remain intimately connected with the Lord and with His Church for their entire life!”

Here’s what’s happening this summer.

High School Youth Mission Trip – July 4-15

As you probably know, the team has been meeting together since early April and is nearly ready to head out. Pray for us as we go! Part of the team will be serving at Rock Nest Ranch and the other part of the team will be running a VBS program in the First nations community of Moricetown, BC. We’re getting real excited about this adventure, and our hope is that God will use this time of ministry to strengthen the faith of our students and invite others to faith in Christ for the first time. The large picture above is the team of students and leaders who are going.

Vacation Bible School – July 22-26

VBS is an exciting week of outreach and fun, and it also provide good leadership training and ministry development opportunities for our students.

Middle School Zoo Day – Wed, July 31 – 10:00-2:30 – $12 and bring a sack lunch

We’re heading to the Oregon Zoo! This event will serve as a “Welcome to the Youth Group” event for incoming 6th graders, and hopefully it’ll be a good way for the middle schoolers to connect with each other and develop good relationships with each other.

All Youth Beacon Rock Hike – Wed, Aug 7 – 10:30-2:30 – Bring a sack lunch and a few dollars if you want ice cream

All the teens are invited to come hike the great monolith known as Beacon Rock. It’s not too challenging, as far as hikes go, but it’s a good one. And afterward we’re planning to stop for ice cream!

Middle School jump Night – Wed, Aug 21 – 6:30-8:30 – $15

We will meet at G6 Airpark for a night of jumping around and goofing around. It’s a great place that is sure to bring your kids home tired. This event is just for those students who will be entering 6-8 grade next year.

High School Portland Adventure – Sat, Aug 24 – 10:30-3:30 – $14-$20

We’ve got a fun day planned for the high schoolers in Portland. First we’ll spend some time checking out the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Saturday Market. Then we’ll go ride the Tram up to OHSU and back. Last, we’ll stop by Salt and Straw to enjoy some of their very unique ice cream flavors.

Youth Family BBQ – Fri, Aug 30 – Free

The last event of the summer before we kick back into gear with the new school year will be a BBQ at Ryan and Leanne Donovan’s house. We’ll plan to provide the meat, and we’re hoping some of you all will be able to bring some of the extras. The BBQ is open to the whole family. Maybe it’ll be standing room only in our backyard. Hopefully the weather is nice!
