CASH (almost) If You’ll Read This!
“Many people wish the abortion debate would just go away. They’re tired of the controversy and name-calling played out almost daily on social media. They’re turned-off by harsh rhetoric and careless labels, not to mention constant political bickering.
Perhaps you feel this way. You have a heart for the unborn, but have yet to act on your pro-life sentiments. You want to do something, but see only two options—pick a fight or avoid the issue in polite company!
But there’s a third option—pray and engage.”
This is the opening of an excellent 30-page full-color pamphlet entitled 21 Days of Prayer for Life put out by the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. The sanctity of human life is so important and this resource is so valuable I am tempted to offer cash if you’ll read it. That’s rash, I know, but in this age of apathy and information overload it is very difficult to get many people to read anything, however worthwhile it may be.
There is double irony to savor here. I readily admit I am a person who struggles to read educational materials and here I am using print to urge reluctant readers to do exactly that. That’s worth two laughs! But when you’re done laughing I hope you will join me in using this resource.
The booklet provides a biblical perspective on human life (the first three pages) and then a compelling guide for prayer over 21 days. I have downloaded it to my phone so I can use it in my morning prayer time.
I plan to begin this Friday, January 22 because it is the 43rd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s tragic Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion in America. Nearly a million innocent lives have been snuffed out every year since. I only need to consider this for a moment to find the necessary motivation to do whatever I can to help. This prayer guide will help put feet to that desire.
