I Love The Bible Project
In the vast sea of Bible study resources available there is one I am uniquely excited about. The Bible Project is a relatively new non-profit animation studio based in Portland whose mission is to show how the Bible is a unified story that leads to Jesus.
Their primary work is producing short, animated videos explaining either a book of the Bible or an important Bible theme. When I first stumbled upon them a couple years ago they were quite small and were only able to produce four or five new videos a year. But they have been growing rapidly and have now completed videos for every book of the Bible and many other themes besides. Best of all, these videos are all available to watch or download for free!
Another cool resource they have is the Read Scripture App. This is a tool for reading through the Bible that not only helps you make sense of what you’re reading, it encourages you to respond to God in biblical ways. The app includes the full text of Scripture broken into daily readings as well as short videos at the beginning of each section to aid in understanding.
One of the reasons I am freshly excited about the Bible Project is that I just finished reading my copy of their first ever Quarterly Journal. It arrived in the mail yesterday and I just finished reading it this morning. The content is once again top notch and makes me really thankful for the work this organization is doing. If you’re not familiar with their work, I encourage you to go to TheBibleProject.com and check them out.
