24-Hour Prayer
Adoration
Jesus teaches us to pray in Matthew chapter 6 – and He starts with adoration.
“Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed by Your Name.”
The focus of our prayer for the next 10-15 minutes is to thank God for being God. That’s what it means to adore Him.
On the board in front of you is an illustrated list of some of God’s many communicable attributes. Take this time to sit with the Lord and simply thank Him for who He is.
As a guide for helping you to pray – open to Psalm 145. Feel free to pray the words of the Scripture – or use them as a starting point to express adoration to God.
Confession
One of the key things Jesus teaches us to do in our prayers is to confess.
The focus of our prayer for the next 10-15 minutes is to be honest with the Lord about our own sin.
In front of you is a depiction of the Roman cross on which Jesus was crucified because of your sin. He went to the cross willingly to pay the debt you could never pay and to fully satisfy God’s wrath toward your sin so that you could have peace with God.
While sinners are saved at the cross, it also reminds us of the great cost of our sin. Jesus teaches us to confess our sin, both that we would be forgiven, and that we would go and “sin no more.”
Spend some time recounting your sins to the Lord, confessing them, and repenting of them.
There are pillows at the foot of the cross, should you desire to kneel or prostrate yourself before the Lord during this time.

Thanksgiving
Paul teaches us to pray with thankfulness to the Lord. He says in Philippians 4:6:
“…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
God wants us to make our requests known to Him – but He also desires that we do so with thankful hearts.
The focus of our prayer for the next 10-15 minutes is to be thankful for all that the Lord has richly lavished on us His people.
As a prompt for your prayers, feel free to spend a couple of moments using the notecards on the table to write out some things that you are thankful for in your life, pin them on the board in front of you, then pray with thanksgiving to God.

Supplication & Lament
We are taught throughout the scriptures to come to the Lord in our grief, and to ask God in our needs.
James instructs us: “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.”
The focus of our prayers for the next 10-15 minutes is to both bear our burdens to God, and to make our requests known to Him.
As a primer for your prayers, feel free to write your requests on one of the notecards in front of you, or to write of the things you are lamenting over. Then use these cards as catalyst to cry out to God, and to ask Him for answers to your needs. When you are finished praying, take your notecard and leave it at the last prayer station, so that others can pray intercessory prayers over your needs and laments.

As a guide for helping you to offer up requests – open to Psalm 86. Feel free to pray the words of the Scripture – or use them as a starting point to make your requests known to God.
Intercession
God teaches us to not only offer up personal requests to God, but to intercede for each other in our prayers to Him.
James instructs: “…confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
The focus of our prayers for the next 10-15 minutes is to intercede on behalf of the needs within our church body, and on behalf of God’s worldwide church.
Take a notecard in front of you, and spend some time praying for the request of someone else in the church body – or pray for any needs that you know of for those whom you are connected to.
Spend some time in intercession for persecuted Christians around the world – especially those in Nigeria, facing active, violent persecution at this very moment. Pray that God would raise awareness of this issue, that other world governments would step in, and that corrupt Nigerian officials would be ousted from office.
Also pray for our missionaries – that God would protect them and their families, that He would bless the work of their hands, and that their work would produce fruit in the lives of unbelievers.
