American Ambassadors
Set aside any political misgivings you may have and imagine that President Trump has received your name from a friend of a friend. He likes that you’re not a politician and thinks that you’d make an adequate representative of the U.S. to one of the 195 countries in existence. So he appoints you Ambassador to (insert one of your favorite countries here).
You are now an Ambassador. You represent the President of the United States in an official capacity in a foreign nation. You are charged with protecting and promoting national interests, maintaining diplomacy, organizing visits, welcoming visitors, and supporting resolutions. You get to attend international meetings, banquets and parties and you act as a figurehead for the United States of America. What a privilege, right? What an honor! You have the joy of representing what many believe to be the greatest country on earth!
While you may feel inadequate to do the job, once accepted, you most certainly wouldn’t shirk your responsibilities. You’d recognize the importance of your post and you’d gladly do whatever necessary to fulfill your job description. Wouldn’t you?
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors. Again, we (you and me) are therefore Christ’s ambassadors. These are the Holy Spirit inspired words of the Apostle Paul, which makes them 100% true. Much better than being Ambassadors of the U.S., we are official representatives (American Ambassadors) of God and His Kingdom in this world! We have the privilege, honor, and joy of acting and speaking on behalf of the King and Creator of all! The rest of the verse from the Apostle Paul tells us that “He has committed to us the message of reconciliation…as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20
Fellow Ambassadors, enjoy your high calling today! Don’t let it go to your head, rather, let it go to your hands, feet, and mouth as you serve this community and deliver to them the life-giving message of reconciliation!
Below are upcoming opportunities that still need a few volunteers to join with other Ambassadors in representing our King. If you can help with any of these, please reply to this email.
