Last night was a little bit of a different night at youth group. After starting off with some games, we spent the evening working on some Christmas Caroling songs and writing Christmas cards in order to be a blessing to others this Christmas. Next week, we’ll be sharing these caroling songs, and these Christmas cards with the residents at the Cascade Inn, a care facility for elderly residents.

The point of Christmas is that Jesus is the greatest gift of all. The arrival of the newborn king signaled the fulfillment of God’s promise all the way back in Genesis 12… that Abraham’s family would be blessed, AND BE A BLESSING to all nations. Paul tells us that anyone who accepts Jesus in faith is part of Abraham’s family (Gal. 3:7). As a youth group, then, we want to be a blessing! We never want to just learn and collect head knowledge… we want to practice the things we’re learning in application!

All of that said, we’ll be meeting EARLY next week for youth group! Because the residents at the Cascade Inn go to bed early, we’ll be meeting at 5:30pm at the church and carpooling over to the Cascade Inn: directions here. If you’d prefer to meet us at the Cascade Inn at 6:00pm, that’s just fine as well! After spending some time caroling, and with the residents, we’ll carpool back to the church and spend some time fellowshipping together while watching a Christmas movie.
