EBC’s Team
Dear EBC Family,
It’s worth mentioning from time to time that being on the EBC Staff is really great. What a great team the Lord has given to us! Just this afternoon we convened as a group to enjoy a Christmas Lunch together at Gustav’s. Over bread and cheese fondue we talked about broken bones of our past, Christmas plans of our not-too-distant future, and a whole lot of other things, as well. And then the schnitzel and other assorted Bavarian dishes arrived, and we dug in! We sat for an hour and a half enjoying one another in conversation, with plenty of laughter and smiles.
We don’t sit down together for meals too often as a team. Probably once or twice a year. More often than not we are eating lunch at our desks while we continue on with whatever work is in front of us for the day. But there is really something special about being a part of the EBC Team. It is a blessing to be a part of a team where we enjoy each other, we care about one another’s needs, we respect each other, we laugh together, we are interested in one another’s highs and one another’s lows, and we work well together.
We aren’t all the same. We don’t all have the same interests, we don’t all have the same gifts, we don’t all have the same temperaments, and each of us would probably choose a different radio station if we were all riding in a van together. But we are all pulling in the same direction in our jobs, trying to help Evergreen be a place where more and better disciples of Jesus Christ are formed. And we are committed to loving one another as we do that, giving one another plenty of grace, believing the best about each other, and being excited for one another when we experience successes or milestones in life and ministry.
What a gift it is from the Lord to be a part of a team where kindness and care are just the normal elements of our working environment. I am so truly thankful for our team at EBC, and for today, I thought everyone should know it.
