Last night was a blast (literally) as we gathered for the evening in order to simply have some fun with one another by turning the sanctuary into a nerf zone! The students seemed to really enjoy the time, and it was a good break from our normal routine.

We had also just gotten back from the high school winter retreat on Monday afternoon, so I think a lot of our high school students were still feeling the effects of playing hard in the snow combined with a lack of sleep. Other than being sore and tired, the retreat was a huge success! It was a joy to have joined up with the Laurelwood youth group for the weekend, and the students did a great job trying to get out of their comfort zones to meet new people. The focus all weekend was on Jesus’ commands to love God, and love each other, and we fleshed that out in some pretty practical ways. All in all, my prayer is that the students came away with a greater zeal to be connected with God, and to have a focus on the people around them!
