Hispanic Men’s Conference
Hello Church Family!
This time I want to share with y’all the latest blessing God allowed us to partake of… our First Hispanic Men’s Conference which we held here at EBC last Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Where 21 out of 57 were from our Spanish congregation, and the rest came from other four churches in Vancouver and beyond.
What a great time of fellowship and Bible training we had! Pastor Martin Leyva from Hillsboro exhorted us to be spiritual leaders both, at church and home, accepting the challenge to serve God and others through the wisest use of time, energy and skills.
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14.
Pastor Evaristo Rojas from Woodburn did a great job pointing at seven areas of weakness men usually fall into and dishonor the Lord in our day-to-day journey because of a lack of commitment and integrity, like sexual immorality, dishonesty and poor interest in sharing the Gospel of Salvation.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord…” 2 Timothy 1:7-8a.
I had the chance to teach about Bible principles on how to raise up the new generations of godly men who will conquer the marriage, parenting and identity ideologies territories.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:1-3.
Please, pray with me for such an army of men who will battle against hostile stereotypes, and will remain faithful to God, faithful to their wives, faithful to their children and faithful to their civil rights and duties, “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11.
