International Day 2025
Hope you didn’t miss International Day. It was a great celebration of our united multicultural church family!
The Lord has blessed us so much with many individuals and families from different parts of the world, not only within our Spanish community but from all EBC. Some have come from foreign countries and made the U.S. their own, while others have had the experience of living in other territories serving as missionaries, in the military or for other reasons, but the feeling is the same. Being able to say a few words in a different language or tasting some diverse flavors are just a speck of what we get to enjoy in a church like ours, mainly in an event like this.
We are thankful because God provided us with a beautiful time this past Sunday, the weather was just right, and the environment could not have been better.
Would you agree with me in the fact that worshiping in other languages has a unique sense of awareness? Awareness about the blessed assurance that we all will be together praising our Lord Jesus Christ from every corner of the earth in our eternal home. Just like the Bible reminded us on Sunday:
“And they sang a new song, saying: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:9-10).
International Day is more than a beautiful moment of fellowship and fun; it is a time of focusing on the reason Jesus came to earth for: He shed his blood to rescue us all from our sins and eternal separation from God. He made it possible for us to be forgiven and justified and saved! Let us not forget that there are still millions around the world who don’t know Jesus and are still lost without knowing the good news of salvation.
May the Lord help us to be faithful as we remember these three purposes for International Day:
- Be thankful for God’s love for the world, including you and me.
- Go, pray and give toward missions, evangelism and discipleship starting from our neighborhood to the ends of the earth.
- And continue to honor the Lord as we worship and serve together like one-church-two-languages!
