Jesus Loves the Children of the World
We are excited to be able to offer the “Children of the World” summer kids’ program at all three services beginning this weekend! Kids entering K-5th grade will be taking “mini mission trips” each week to different countries around the world. They will learn about the culture and get a feel for the needs of children in each country, as well as how many Christians are persecuted for their faith. They will hear Bible and missionary stories, make crafts that children in each country might make, play games, and taste ethnic food from each country. We will be using the curriculum Kids of Courage from Voice of the Martyrs, as well as Heroes of the Faith, and personal missionary stories from some of our missionaries.
Our hope is that our EBC kids will gain a heart for people in other cultures to know Jesus as savior, and will see that there are great needs in other countries for the gospel, as well as for food and supplies that we take for granted here in the United States. We want to help them see they can make a difference for Jesus in the world! This is a great program to invite their friends to as well!
We also hope to give kids and families a heart for our EBC missionaries. We will be sending home globe key chains with our missionary prayer cards attached so families can pray for our missionaries this summer. Please feel free to take a prayer card and adopt a missionary this summer to pray for even if you don’t have kids in the program.
Kids will be encouraged to put their offering money in the “Globe Bank” each week, which will go our new missionaries Seth and Jessica Howell, who are going to Peru to work with Kids Alive. We will be trying to fill up the mission bank and raise $1,000 for them! If your children are able to help contribute to these missionaries that would be wonderful! Even if you don’t have kids in the program, please consider donating so we can help them get to Peru as soon as possible.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who are serving this summer to make this Mini Missions Trip possible! Please stop by the children’s upstairs classroom after each service this weekend to pick up your curriculum packet if you will be teaching this summer.
Parents, please bring your kids upstairs before the service begins to sign a permission slip and check them in the first time they attend the program this summer. After that they can come up when children are dismissed after announcements.
We look forward to a great trip around the world this summer with a focus on making disciples of all nations! We want to instill a “Great Commitment to the Great Commandment.”
