We looked at Proverbs chapter 3 last night as we examined who we should trust. Should we go with the media and the world and trust ourselves and our own hearts, or should we trust in the LORD and have Him direct our paths? According to Proverbs 3, the latter is the wiser choice! Our students are constantly told, “you do you,” however that is not what scripture tells us.

We did distinguish between having self-confidence, goals, and dreams, and trusting in your own desires and in your heart. It is great to have self-confidence, goals, and dreams, but we should trust in God and give Him the glory when we accomplish those goals.

We ended in small groups where we discussed what it might look like to follow our own hearts and what it looks like to follow God.

Your students were sent home with a half sheet of paper called, “Live It Out.” I encourage you to engage with your students in the activities on the paper. It is a great way to dive deeper with your student about what was taught at youth group.

APOLOGETIC SPOTLIGHT

Last night we had Emily talk to us about the reliability of the Bible and how all proven, non-theoretical, scientific facts align very well with the Bible. However, that does not seem to be the case with Mormonism as they have some issues that modern science disproves. Click below to find out how Mormonism and modern science clash.

You can find all the apologetic spotlights here.
