Given the most recent updates on the WA state restrictions for religious gatherings, below is the pertinent information you need to know about youth group:
Youth Group is still a GO for December 2nd, and December 9th. There is no youth group this week and next Wednesday, Nov. 25, there will be no youth group due to Thanksgiving Break.
All Youth Events outside of regular YG meetings have been cancelled for the next four weeks. This includes youth group study sessions, and HS Hangs. This is a major bummer, but it’s what we need to do for this season given the new state restrictions.
Youth Group for the next four weeks will look different than students have become accustomed to. We’ll be taking extra measures to help our students stay more socially distanced from one another, and to limit contact. As always, masks will be required. Please prepare your students for these changes by having a conversation with them beforehand.
We’re continuing our study on the spiritual discipline of prayer. We’ll be looking at the Lord’s Prayer specifically, and how we can use it as a model for our own prayers. I’ll introduce the ACTS acronym for prayer, and we’ll work through applying it to our own lives and prayers.
Myself and our leaders are still very much looking forward to seeing the youth. I truly believe that it is essential that we get our youth together for youth group gatherings. I believe that in this particular time in our culture, with teen depression rates as high as they are, they NEED fellowship and community desperately. We are grateful that we can still provide an avenue for some of that through the youth ministry.
With you and for you in Christ,
Ryan Aufenkamp
