One Church Two Languages
One church two languages is more than a short and striking or memorable phrase we use to advertise that we have both English and Spanish ministries as a church. This perfectly describes our essence on how the body of Christ is supposed to live out Christian faith and message. We saw on Saturday and Sunday that the letter of Paul to the Philippians is all about joy and unity in the context of the local church:
“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” Philippians 2:1-2
Languages tend to divide us, but the power of the Gospel unites us. That is why our like-mindedness and love need to be expressed in the Spirit, and us being of one mind must be exercised in the Lord. My heart rejoiced in our worship together this past weekend! Oh, what a beautiful time of praising and glorifying our great God and Savior Jesus Christ! Like Pastor Ryan led us to thinking of what we will experience in heaven, according to Revelation chapter 7:
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”
I want to thank each and all of you who attended our services and shared your hearts with each other. It is so exciting to feel how mutually welcomed we all were and mainly how unanimously welcomed the Word of God was, accepting the challenge of leaving the temple with one task in mind: to encourage someone with the promises of God, that He will give you perfect peace and joy.
