Saved By Grace

Imagine living in a country where good works is what breaks you of the vicious cycle of reincarnation. You are hoping each and every day that you’re doing good enough. Alicea and I just took a trip to Thailand where more than 90% of the country are Buddhist. Buddhism has the belief in reincarnation. In order to break the cycle of reincarnation they must reach nirvana by doing good works. What an exhausting life – in constant fear of the unknown. Did you do good enough today? How about yesterday? Depending on the law of karma depends on what you will be in the next life. If you’re sick then the law of karma states it is because you did bad in the previous life. If that’s the case, then I would be desperately ill the next life. The beauty of Christianity is Christ paid it all because we cannot work to ever reach the standard God set from the beginning. Paul’s letter to Ephesus reminds us that we do not work for our salvation. I encourage you to take a moment today and thank Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross so we do not have to work for our salvation! I am praying for those we interacted with. I’m praying for the country of Thailand- very nice people who desperately need Jesus. Please join me in prayer today.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
