Sermon Questions: Short Stories of Big Change

June 7, 2020

Matthew 13:31-46

Have you experienced injustice? What were the circumstances and how did it leave you feeling?

What were some of the ways that Israel was experiencing injustice? What are some common ways that people are experiencing injustice today?

Toby titled this sermon “Short stories of Big Change”. What are some big changes that you’d love to enact in the world today?

The parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast teach that the Gospel has humble beginnings, demonstrates astonishing growth, and provides refuge and renewal. What does this mean?

The main point of the last two parables is that “the gospel is worth all you have”. What have you given up in order to follow Christ? If not much, what might that say?

Does the truth of the gospel still astonish you or has it sort of become “old news”?

What is your main takeaway this week? What will you put into practice this week?
