Spanish Congregation Update
I want to thank all of you who have been praying for unity in the church body because that’s exactly what we can see the Lord is doing as we speak.
It’s hard to see some good friends and members go but if that’s what they needed to be able to pass the page and have a fresh start, we pray that God continues to bring joy and spiritual growth to each of them and their families, and for us here as well to continue to bear fruit for Him.
The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3:6, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
Our Spanish congregation stands as a testimony that God’s word is true on this verse as it is as a whole. We have seen some new believers come to Christ for salvation, others for baptism and others to be added to the church membership and service in the last few months. Also, providentially, the Lord has put us together with another Hispanic church in town to be partners in ministry. Iglesia Nuevas Alturas (Spanish New Heights Church) and us have planned to have a joint worship service on May 31 and we will also join forces having our Family Camp together in the month of June. These were Pastor Oscar Suarez’s words when we met some three moths ago: “I’ve been praying for years that the Lord would give us a healthy relationship with another Spanish congregation in the area that we might teamwork for the Great Commission, and here we are!” I also praise God for His grace and love in allowing us to enjoy serving Him together. Later on, this year I’ll share with y’all the great things that God does amongst us. For now, let me just tell you how blessed we are to see His hand leading us through these times.

Baptism service of last Sunday where seven people came in obedience to Christ; my daughter Ellie was one of them! Also, our three Ecuadorian new converts! (If you did the math, you’re right: little Rosemary was too shy to be in the picture above!)
