Three Shelters of God
I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Psalm 61:4)
God shelters his people like a mother hen shelters her chicks. That is a marvel. The marvel grows when we realize we are to be part of the shelter he provides. Here are three ways the people of Evergreen are currently providing the shelter of God.
- Praying and Inviting Kids to VBS (next week!)
We have 107 kids registered so far, but we have room for more. Pray and invite so that God’s house will be full of students learning about the faithful God who shepherds his people through the wilderness. If you know someone who may be interested in coming, direct them to register here. - Shade Canopies for Open House Ministries Block Party (August 10)
Open House is a Christ-centered family shelter in downtown Vancouver and we have partnered with them in this critical ministry for many years. They are having a Block Party and Resource Fair on Thursday, August 10, and they need to borrow six shade canopies. Would you be willing to loan yours for that day? If so, please contact berniegerhardt@sheltered.org or call 360-737-0300. - Giving and Prayer for Phase II (breaking ground Spring 2024)
Last weekend Evan Chalker gave an update of Phase II that was filled with helpful and encouraging information. The short story is that giving for the project has been very strong and we expect to break ground in the Spring 2024. This project is all about expanding our opportunities to provide a shelter for people in our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
It is exciting to be part of the sheltering work God is doing!
